Every year I buy cards at Christmas, spend time writing them and printing labels before handing over a small fortune to the Royal Mail for the privilege of them handling them, and whilst I know they will be gratefully received by friends and family, two weeks later they are consigned to the recycling.

Therefore, rather than buying and sending cards this year, I have decided that I am doing something I feel to be far more worthwhile with my money and time. In setting up this page, I have made a donation to Prostate Cancer UK in memory of my Dad who died in February 2006 from the disease. I shall continue to donate at Christmas in the future and on anniversaries in his memory.

My gesture wont bring him back, but it may help go towards finding a cure to prevent other Dads, brothers, husbands and friends being lost to cancer.
